FIRST EVER HARDCORE JEET KUNE DO INSTRUCTOR'S SUMMIT

Get ready for the FIRST EVER HARDCORE JEET KUNE DO INSTRUCTOR'S SUMMIT! It will be held on February 20th-21st, 2010 at the Hardcore Jeet Kune Do Academy (KUNG FU Mind & Body Fitness) in Leeds, Alabama.  If you are flying in for the event, I would suggest a Friday afternoon or evening arrival!  If you let me know your arrival time, I will make an effort to have anyone coming in picked up, provided that I can be there or have someone there at your arrival time or shortly thereafter!  If not, Leeds is just a short cab ride from the airport!

Here is the fee schedule for this event (in U.S. dollars).  Notice that the sooner you pay, the less you pay!

For training, you will need (minimum) headgear, shin guards and boxing gloves.  Training will be INTENSE, so be sure you bring clean training clothes and plenty of deodorant!  J  There will be t-shirts of various design as well as other merchandise for sale in the kwoon, so bring some spending cash!  Cold bottled drinking water will be FREE to all paid participants.  A certificate of attendance will be awarded to all who complete the training.

The training/meeting schedule will be handed to all participants upon arrival at the kwoon on the morning of the 20th.  We will start at 9:00 that Saturday morning, and everyone is expected to be there on time!  There will be a morning, afternoon and evening training session on Saturday, followed by a dinner meeting that all participants will need to attend.  There will be a couple of snack time breaks during the day when you can hit one of the local eating establishments (there are a TON of them) for a light meal.  You will also be allowed time to freshen up for dinner on Saturday night.  

The first Sunday session will start at 9:00 A.M., and there will be a morning and afternoon session on Sunday, divided by a lunch break.  For those who need to fly out on Sunday, the afternoon session will be over at 3:00.  I would suggest that you arrange your flight home for after 6:00 P.M. departure.  This will allow you plenty of time to get to the airport and clear security before time for your flight out!  For those who are flying out on Monday, there will be a special evening training session on Sunday as well (no extra charge).  Anyone who is interested in staying longer may also stay Monday and attend Nancy’s yoga class and my JKD class on that Monday evening, also at no extra charge!  There will also be arranged activities during the day on that Monday so you aren’t stuck sitting in your hotel alone all day!

If you will be flying in for the event, you will fly into Birmingham International Airport, Birmingham, Alabama.  The kwoon is about twenty minutes or so from the airport.  There are three hotels in Leeds that are very nice and very close to the kwoon.  One of them (Days Inn) is even in easy walking distance!  I would suggest staying there because of convenience!  The Days Inn is located at 1838 Asheville Road, Leeds, AL 35094.  The phone number there is (205) 699-9833 if you want to go ahead and make reservations.  If anyone wants a room mate to share hotel expenses, please let me know as far ahead of time as possible so I can get you set up with someone!
